Youth with disabilities and their sibling (cousin or close friend) who are 12 yrs + who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.
What to Expect
Dive into an afternoon of fun, friendship, and splashing good times at our Teen Pool Party and Movie Matinee! This special event is for TVCC youth clients and their siblings 12 yrs + (or close friend or cousin.)
Join us in our on-site therapy pool where everyone can enjoy the water at their own pace. Whether you're a swimming enthusiast or just want to float and relax, there's something for everyone.
Swimming will be supervised by TVCC staff. Our onsite therapy pool is a shallow 0.79m - 1.19m deep with a warm temperature of 93 F/34 C.
Our 60 minute swim time will be followed by a movie matinee and popcorn! It’s the perfect way to celebrate summer and mingle with new friends!
Through this program, youth will:
- Meet and interact with other TVCC clients and siblings (close friend or cousin)
- Engage in social time and peer connection
- Have some fun in the pool
Participant Criteria:
- TVCC clients and their siblings 12 yrs + (close friend or cousin)
- Able to participate in group activities with minimal support
- Able to get changed in and out of their bathingsuit independently in the changeroom; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
- Comfortable with a group of peers in a pool setting
- Interested in watching a movie with peers
This program is offered by TVCC’s Wellness Project and Horizons Youth Services teams.
