TVCC youth are invited to join the new Youth Boccia Ball League. 

Whether you are an experienced player or brand new to the game you are more than welcome to come and play with your peers. Each session will begin with warm up activities and drills to learn the basic skills of the game before playing a game.

Boccia is a precision ball sport, similar to outdoor bocce ball, that uses targeting, focus and accuracy. Youth with or without experience are welcome to come out to learn about the game, practice skills, and participate in boccia games with their peers. This league is open to youth with any type of disability and is easily adaptable for those with physical disabilities and who use mobility devices. We have different types of adaptive equipment to try out. 

Through this program, youth will:

• Meet and interact with other TVCC clients and staff
• Learn new physical activity skills and how to play Boccia Ball
• Practice social and communication skills through turn taking, group activities, fair play, and peer connection

Participant Criteria:

• TVCC clients ages 12yrs+
• Able to participate safely in group activities and play; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
• Able to independently follow 2-step group instructions with or without accommodations
• Interested in and willing to engage in group Boccia Ball games

This program is facilitated by TVCC's Wellness Project. The Wellness Project is a four-year program aimed at rebuilding and enhancing mental wellness for youth and their families. We understand that the past few years have brought unique challenges, and we want to help by running programs with a focus on connection, mindfulness, physical activity, and new skills.
