Current Opportunities
Therapy Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a temporary, full-time (37.5 hours per week) Therapy Assistant to fill an upcoming vacancy in Early Childhood Services. The designated office for this position will be Owen Sound and the successful candidate will provide services in Grey and Bruce counties. This position is expected to begin in May 2021 and end in December 2022.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with direct/indirect client intervention (individual and group);
- Assist with a variety of client/family programs at the Centre and in the community with community partners;
- Coordinating and supporting educational group activities for clients and families;
- Gathering information, developing resources and obtaining supplies for variety of activities;
- Supporting clients in personal care as needed;
- Client-related activities will occur under the supervision of a registered Speech Language Pathologist as per CASLPO guidelines, or under a Physical or Occupational Therapist as per their respective college guidelines.
- Provide services within the Blind-Low Vision Early Intervention Program
Qualifications:
- Graduate from a recognized OT/PT Assistant or Communicative Disorder Assistant program. Communicative Disorder Assistant Program preferred;
- Working knowledge of child language development and play;
- Experienced with individuals who are non-speaking and/or have physical disabilities;
- Excellent communication (written and verbal); organizational, interpersonal skills and effective problem-solving skills;
- Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite 2010 and videoconferencing software (ex. Zoom);
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required;
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Manager, Computer Support
We are currently recruiting for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Manager, Computer Support.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager, Computer Support is responsible for the planning and management of information technology, staff and contractors to enable effective systems at TVCC. This includes overseeing the implementation of robust security systems, strategies and practices while maintaining compliance with industry best practices and legislative requirements. This position will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the technology systems, tools and supports at TVCC.
The designated office for the position is London. A flexible work schedule will be required, including some evening and weekend work.
Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with TVCC leadership, draft organizational technology strategic plans for approval including technology contingency planning/business continuity planning
- Implement and operationalize Information Technology strategies
- Supervise and coordinate Computer Support staff, scheduling, work assignments
- Oversee security plans, protections and systems that ensure data security
- Oversee maintenance & renewal of legal software agreements and licences of all TVCC information technology systems and services
- Ensure appropriate risk management strategies are in place to mitigate technology risks for clients, staff and the organization
- Collaborate and coordinate security systems, policies and practices with the TVCC Privacy Officer around the collection, use and storage of Personal Health Information and ensure legislative compliance
- Ongoing evaluation and monitoring of organizational technology systems
- Oversee equipment asset inventory including refresh cycles and disposal per procurement policies
Qualifications:
- University degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Business Administration or another related field
- Relevant leadership training and experience in a formal or informal role is preferred including experience in mentorship and coaching
- 3 years minimum experience in an Information Technology role
- Working knowledge of networks, computing technology, unified communication systems, cloud technologies, mobile device management, security principles in network and computing, etc.
- Excellent organization skills and proven ability to manage multiple competing demands, delegate and manage time effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in strategic and analytic thinking
- Mature, consistent approach and a resilient nature
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products
- A valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Proficiency in the French language would be considered an asset
