Teen Hangouts (12 yrs+)

For youth with disabilities, 12 yrs +, who are clients of TVCC or are eligible to be clients.

What to Expect

An afternoon of fun and friends for teens! Come hang out at TVCC with fellow TVCC youth. 

Teen Hangout is a great way to get your teen out of the house and trying something new. These screen-free afternoons offer a mix of planned activities and youth’s choice of Lego, games, arts and crafts, and more. 

Teen Hangout isn't just about having fun; it's about creating meaningful connections. It's a place where teens can come together in a supportive environment, share experiences, and forge lasting friendships

In this program, youth will: 

  • Meet and interact with other TVCC youth
  • Build upon existing social skills through connection with peers and social activities
  • Foster self-awareness and practice skills for independence

Participant Criteria:

  • TVCC clients ages 12+ or eligible to register as a client
  • Interest and willingness to participate in social and group activities
  • Able to participate safely in group activities; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
  • Able to follow along with a group with or without accommodations

Youth are welcome to bring any adaptive equipment or support items to support their participation (i.e. noise reducing headphones, comfort items)

This program runs directly before Creative Connections (arts and crafts program for youth). Youth are welcome to register for these back-to-back programs if they are comfortable being at TVCC for 3 hours at a time.

Dates: Thursdays; July 3, 24, August 7, 21, 2024 (just before the Creative Connections program for youth)

Time: 12:00-1:30 p.m.

Location: TVCC, Multi-purpose Room 241, 779 Base Line Rd E, London, ON
