Youth with disabilities, 12 yrs + and their siblings who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.

What to Expect

Come explore the vast and creative world of Minecraft with The Wellness Project! Every Wednesday, we'll work together to build our home base, collect resources, and survive through the nights. Through playing Minecraft together, participants will have the opportunity to interact with other youth, learn how to communicate effectively, and work together to overcome challenges. They will be encouraged to express themselves creatively and share their ideas with others, building confidence and self-esteem.

This group is for clients and their siblings ages 12+.

Through this program, youth will:

  • Practice social skills through group activities and peer connection
  • Boost their self-confidence through play and creative expression
  • Improve communication skills through shared activities and discussion

Participant Criteria:

  • TVCC clients and their siblings ages 12+
  • Able to independently join and participate in Minecraft; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
  • Knowledge of how to play Minecraft required

Must be playing Minecraft Bedrock Edition (also called Minecraft for Windows). You will not be able to join and play if you're playing Minecraft: Java Edition.

This program is facilitated by TVCC's Horizons Youth Program and TVCC's Wellness Project. The Wellness Project is a three-year program aimed at rebuilding and enhancing mental wellness for youth and their families. We understand that the past few years have brought unique challenges, and we want to help. We're running programs with a focus on connection, mindfulness, physical activity, and new skills.
