Fresh Take: Searching for the Outcomes You Want at School

For parents/caregivers of youth with disabilities, 12 yrs +

What to Expect

Do you ever feel like you don't have the skills to properly advocate for your teen? Do you feel like you can name the problems but aren't sure how to ask for the solutions?

This workshop is designed for caregivers of youth with disabilities who are looking to have a better relationship with the school, and feel more confident when asking for what your child needs. These skills will help parents to identify their goals related to school, and to better ask for solutions to solve problems.

You will be provided with information and hands on strategies to build effective and collaborative working relationships with your child's school team particularly when there are changes,  transitions and challenges to overcome.

This initiative is part of TVCC's Wellness Project.  The Wellness Project is a three-year program aimed at rebuilding and enhancing mental wellness for youth and their families. We understand that the past few years have brought unique challenges, and we want to help. We're running programs with a focus on connection, mindfulness, physical activity, and new skills.
