Participation Programs

Life is all about participation!

TVCC offers a range of participation programs (camps and activities) helping clients and families to be their best. 

The primary purpose of Participation programs is to ensure kids have access to an appropriate range of activities and experiences to optimize their growth and development.

These participation programs offer clients the chance to get involved in opportunities and activities that they may not otherwise experience. These opportunities range from groups held at TVCC or community locations for early skill development to supports for participation in fully integrated community programs. Trivia Throwdown (12 yrs +)

(In-Person, Aug 18) For TVCC clients ages 12+ and their friends/siblings.

Night in the Stars! With Cronyn Observatory at Western University (12 yrs +)

(In-person, Jul 26 or Aug 16) Families will be able to take a tour of the observatory, participate in demonstrations and activities, and ask their burning questions to real scientific experts.

Happy Mail: Letters & Doodles (12 yrs +)

(In-person, twice a month, Jul 2 - Aug 20) Do you enjoy happy mail (receiving/sending letters, art work, paper crafts or stickers)? Are you participating in our Mail Club: Horizons Pen Pals group? This program will support participants with communicating with other youth in a fun and creative manner. We will share doodling and simple calligraphy techniques as well as pratice our colouring and decorating skills.

Let's Play Minecraft Virtually! (12 yrs+)

(Virtually, Jul 8-Aug 19) Every Tuesday, we will work together to build our home base, collect resources, and survive through the nights.

Quiet Swim (2-6 yrs)

(In-person, Weds, July 9-30) This program is designed to provide a calm, low stimulation environment to allow children to become comfortable in the water with the support of a parent/caregiver. This program is unstructured and child led, and facilitated by a Recreation Therapist to support early transitions and comfort in the water.

Nintendo Switch Party (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Jul 9 - Aug 20) Join Horizons and The Wellness Project for Nintendo Switches parties! We connect TVCC's Nintendo Switch consoles to two big screens for everyone to play together. We have a few games to choose from, or youth are also welcome to bring any multiplayer games they'd like to play with the group.

(In-person, Thurs; Jul 10-Aug 21) Whether you are a seasoned adventurer or a beginner just stepping into the realm of tabletop gaming, our weekly sessions offer a welcoming and supportive environment for all.

Creative Connections (12 yrs+)

(In-person, July 14-Aug 21) At each session youth can enjoy creating a different structured art or craft  project, using a variety of mediums and approaches.

Meals and Reels: Friends, Food, Films, and Fun (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Jul 28 & Aug 19) Come join us for a meal and a movie. Participants will walk to the No Frills across the street to buy the ingredients needed before returning to TVCC to make their meal together.

Youth Boccia Ball League (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Thurs, Jul 31-Aug 21) Whether you are an experienced player or brand new to the game you are more than welcome to come and play with your peers. Each session will begin with warm up activities and drills to learn the basic skills of the game before playing a game.

(In-Person, Aug 5, Aug 11, or 18) A program for TVCC Youth & siblings, 12 yrs + and parents/caregivers to enjoy exciting board games & Lego. This program designed to encourage social skill development and self-confidence, as well as provide a fun space for family bonding!
