We recognize the importance of physical activity and recreation for the physical, emotional, social and mental health of everyone. We strive to offer a positive and welcoming environment, which recognizes each member's unique skills and abilities. TVCC has an Adapted Fitness Centre (AFC) at their 779 Base Line Road East building in London that is home to a variety of adapted exercise machines and equipment for almost any fitness need. The AFC team offers supervised in-person workouts appointments at TVCC on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, with pre-booking required. We also offer virtual fitness sessions using the Zoom platform for those who cannot access our facility. Parent/caregiver supervision is required for virtual sessions.
Access to Services
The Adapted Fitness Centre welcomes children and youth between 8 and 18 years of age who are able to participate safely. For more information, or to explore a virtual assessment or workout time, please contact Rachel Ireland at afc [at] tvcc.on.ca or 519-685-8700 ext 53464.
What to Expect
Following an exploration call to ensure the Adapted Fitness Centre is the best fit for your child/youth, we offer:
- individualized virtual or in-person fitness assessments
- personalized virtual or in-person fitness program development
A Personalized Fitness Assessment must be completed prior to booking Individualized Workouts. Client safety is important. As part of your Assessment, safety will be discussed as it relates to equipment, supports/supervision and the ability to make choices and follow directions.
No equipment? No problem! If you are looking for a home workout, our team will develop an individualized program that works for the abilities of each member and complements the resources/space available. Limited equipment may be available for loan.
