Horizons - Towards the Future

Open to all TVCC youth clients from the age of 12 until you leave high school!

Do you have questions about starting high school? Are you looking for ways to have fun, make friends, join a team, and learn new things? Are you starting to think about becoming more independent, working, volunteering, and making choices for the future?  Are you wondering about how to follow your dreams, or how to find a dream to follow? You are not alone!

Parents/caregivers, are you looking for ways to get your youth involved? Wondering how you can be supporting their independence or even what that could look like? Starting to think about what happens as they transition to high school, go through high school and then after high school? We can help you, too.

Horizons is the youth services program at TVCC, created just for TVCC youth ages 12+. We work with all abilities, all diagnoses, all situations. The Horizons team is here to help as you work on answering these important questions.

We have:

  • Resources, links and activities to share, for you and your adults
  • Opportunities to meet with others who have the same questions as you to chat, share wisdom, learn or explore a new skill together
  • A team ready to work with you 1:1 on your individual goals for yourself
  • Accommodations and support for our programming, just let us know what you need or we can figure it out together

Access to Services

Horizons is open to all TVCC youth clients living in London/Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford, Huron, Perth, Grey and Bruce counties. You can get involved with Horizons from the age of 12 until you turn 18 or leave high school. If you are not sure how you/your youth may fit into our programming, reach out. We are ready to support all youth with participation and goals.

If you are already registered with TVCC, speak with any of your clinicians about a referral to Horizons or email us at Horizons [at] tvcc.on.ca (Horizons[at]tvcc[dot]on[dot]ca) and we can do that for you.

If you are new to TVCC, make a referral to Horizons by contacting Intake and Referrals

What to Expect

When you are referred or register for one of our events for the first time, one of the team will be in touch to welcome you to Horizons and book a convenient time for an intake call (or Zoom!). This will help us know more about you, your hopes, and your questions, and make a plan. We may share resources, connect you with other people or places that would be helpful, or you may have some specific goals that you would like to work on and we can make a plan for that.

Horizons groups and workshops are available for youth both online through Zoom and in-person - check program locations when you register.  You will receive meeting details and/or Zoom information by email after you register.
