Caregiver-Mediated Early Years (C-MEY) programs support families with young children (aged 12 to 48 months) diagnosed with autism to learn new skills and meet individualized goals. 

TVCC has partnered with four organizations in southwestern Ontario to deliver the C-MEY program to parents and caregivers whose children are registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP).

In the Caregiver-Mediated model, parents and caregivers learn therapeutic strategies and specific techniques from professionals based on their child’s individual needs. The programs aim to build parents’ and caregivers’ capacity to support their child’s skill development in:

  • social interaction
  • play
  • communication
  • emotional development
  • adaptive development and self-help skills

These programs are free of charge for eligible families. The chart below is an overview of similarities and differences between the C-MEY programs offered at TVCC:

Access to Services

Please note, that families must receive an invitation from the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services through the Government of Ontario before participating in C-MEY.

You will be asked for your OAP Client Reference Number when you register for this program.

What to Expect

After registration with TVCC, we will call to speak with you about the programs we offer and help you decide which is the right fit for your child and family.

After choosing a program, you will be connected with an experienced clinician from TVCC and/or one of our four partner agencies providing C-MEY in southwestern Ontario.
