Photography with Purpose: Film Photography Creative Storytelling Program (14-21 yrs)

TVCC Youth with disabilities, 14 yrs - 21 yrs, who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.

What to Expect

Every person has a different story to tell, and we want to see and hear your story! Through the use of disposable film cameras and client voices, we can share our experience and life!

June 23rd 2025: In this first session, we will introduce the program, with short presentations from our Wellness Youth Mentor, Ben Goldstein, Derek Neeb from our Social Work team and Sindy DeBenedictis from Ability Awareness & Kids on the Block! We will then show our group how to use the camera's and discuss the type of story each of them want to tell.

Between our two sessions, the cameras must be dropped off at 779 Baseline by July 9th 2025 this will ensure that the film is developed and our team can prepare the images into slideshows for each of our storytellers!

July 14th 2025: In the second session, we will spend the first portion of time looking over our photos and discussing the type of story we can tell with them! After this, we will have a showcase period where everyone can share their story!
