TVCC offers a range of participation programs, including camps and activities, to help clients and families be their best.

Various educational opportunities are also offered through TVCC for caregivers and community members. These range from information sessions to hands-on “how to…” workshops.

Upcoming Education & Participation

Quiet Swim (2-6 yrs)

(In-person, Weds, July 9-30) This program is designed to provide a calm, low stimulation environment to allow children to become comfortable in the water with the support of a parent/caregiver. This program is unstructured and child led, and facilitated by a Recreation Therapist to support early transitions and comfort in the water.

(In-person, Thurs; Jul 10-Aug 21) Whether you are a seasoned adventurer or a beginner just stepping into the realm of tabletop gaming, our weekly sessions offer a welcoming and supportive environment for all.

Let's Play Minecraft In-Person! (12 yrs +)

(In-person, Fri; Jul 11-Aug 22) Come explore the vast and creative world of Minecraft while getting to know other TVCC clients. This group is similar to our virtual Minecraft group, just in-person to allow for more socializing.

Creative Capturing: Film Photography Workshop (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Jul 14 & Aug 11) Every person has a different story to tell, and learning how to harness the power of photography is a great way to tell them! Through the use of disposable film cameras and our voices, we can share our experience!

Understanding Challenging Behaviour (Part 2)

(Virtual, Jul 15) Practical strategies for HOW TO reduce challenging behaviour and HOW TO encourage positive behaviour patterns.

Junk Journals (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Jul 15 &/or Aug 12) We will create a personal Junk Journal and explore how this can be a good tool to keep a record of fun experiences, write down ideas and feelings or simply collect items (stickers, papers, quotes, doodles etc.) that we like!

Creative Connections (12 yrs+)

(In-person, July 14-Aug 21) At each session youth can enjoy creating a different structured art or craft  project, using a variety of mediums and approaches.

Emotional Regulation in Autism

(Virtual, July 16) for parents of children/youth with autism. We will focus on what emotional regulation means as well as learning some proven techniques to cope in a variety of settings.

Teen Glow in the Dark Mini Golf (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Jul 17) Get ready to light up the afternoon at our glow in the dark mini golf event - just for teens. Join us for an afternoon of neon fun, glowing golf balls, and a blacklight-lit course that bring a whole new twist to mini golf.
