TVCC offers a range of participation programs, including camps and activities, to help clients and families be their best.

Upcoming Education & Participation

Quiet Swim (2-6 yrs)

(In-person, Weds/May & Tues/June) This program is designed to provide a calm, low stimulation environment to allow children to become comfortable in the water with the support of a parent/caregiver. This program is unstructured and child led, and facilitated by a Recreation Therapist to support early transitions and comfort in the water.

Therapeutic Drumming and Music (7 yrs +)

(Weds, May 7 - 28) Each week participants will be guided through various activities using drums and other musical instruments. Led by Music Therapists from Connections Music Therapy, this program will utilize facets of music therapy and expressive arts to encourage creativity, social wellness, and self-confidence.

Nintendo Switch Party (12 yrs+)

(In-person, May-June) Join Horizons and The Wellness Project for Nintendo Switches parties! We connect TVCC's Nintendo Switch consoles to two big screens for everyone to play together. We have a few games to choose from, or youth are also welcome to bring any multiplayer games they'd like to play with the group.

Keeping Runners Safe - Safety and Autism

(Virtual, May 15) Parents will learn to identify and prepare for those risks, and make a plan. This presentation focuses on children with autism in high risk situations but all parents and professionals are welcome to participate.

Creating Social Narratives (London & Stratford)

(In-person, May 21 or 28) Social narratives can be effective tools that can make new or unfamiliar situations like going on vacation, visiting the dentist, or starting at a new school much smoother by presenting these experiences in a story format.

Pop-up Caregivers Connecting (745 Fanshawe)

(In-Person, May 22) Caregivers and parents, of TVCC clients ages, with disabilities can share their experiences, information, challenges, successes and strategies, or just hang out and drink some coffee!

(May 28) This session will provide current information about the kindergarten program, what special services may be available to your child and how best to prepare children with disabilities and parents for entry to school.

(In-person, May 30) This two-part swim group is designed for school-age children with special needs as an introduction to structured swim skills and comfort in the water.
