Thames Valley Children’s Centre (TVCC) physiotherapists (PT) focus on building on your child/youth’s strengths and abilities. TVCC physiotherapists provide services to infants, children, youth and their families. Our physiotherapists can help with strength, flexibility, coordination, walking (with and/or without equipment), posture while sitting or standing, as well as breathing. They help children/youth build these skills during their day-to-day activities to play, learn or work at their best. These could be new (acquired) conditions or something a person was born with.
Based on your priorities, we can work with you and your child/youth on:
- Movement, Mobility and Coordination– including looking at your child’s/youth’s ability to move efficiently and independently. This is based on understanding of what would typically be expected at that age.
- Flexibility and Strength – including developing a stretching and exercise program that will improve or maintain existing skills and movement to allow better participation in daily activities.
- Posture – including development of exercise programs to promote improved posture to decrease stress on joints and allow better ability to participate in activities, or improve positioning.
Don’t see what you looking for? Just ask. There are a variety of other important skills a physiotherapist can help your child / youth achieve.
*Service may vary by region, age and program.
