Child Health Research Day (Day 1): Medical and Basic Science Research in Paediatric Health: Wednesday May 27, 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. EST

This day highlights advancements in medical treatments and interventions, emphasizing studies conducted in hospital settings. Attendees can expect presentations on cutting-edge basic science research that underpins clinical practices, offering insights into the latest developments in paediatric medicine.

Joint Child and Youth Health In-Person Poster Presentation Session: Wednesday May 27, 2026, 4:15 p.m. –  7:00 p.m. EST

We are collaborating with several different disciplines and programs to present the Joint Child and Youth Health Poster Presentation Session being held at King's University College. Refreshments and appetizers will be served.

Child Health Symposium (Day 2): Thursday May 28, 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. EST

The 12th Annual Child Health Symposium (CHS) brings together families, clinicians, service leaders, researchers, educators, and students from all disciplines to share knowledge, ideas, research, and best practices for service delivery and child/youth health and well-being. The Child Health Symposium is presented by Western University's Faculty of Health Sciences and TVCC.

Parking Information
Parking for these events is FREE (the gates will be open for attendees). Attendees can find parking at:
•    P1 (west side of Wemple Building)
•    P2 (near Dante Lenardon Hall)
•    P3 (behind the G. Emmett Cardinal Carter Library which is located within the Dante Lenardon Hall)

While all of these lots have accessible parking spaces, for those with mobility issues, P1 and P3 lots are recommended.

Participate in the Child Health Symposium and/or Child Health Research Day

Oral and Poster Presentations 
Potential presenters are invited to submit an abstract describing their presentation for consideration at the Child Health Symposium (CHS) and/or Child Health Research Day (CHRD) in May 2026.

We invite submissions for presentations in all areas of child and youth health research. Our goal is to highlight research that addresses the holistic needs of children and youth and their families, considering both psychosocial and medical perspectives, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to advance the field of child and youth health.

Abstract Submission Details (Watch for the Call for Presentations in December 2025)
There are two types of presentations: brief oral presentations and poster presentations. Note: All presentation abstracts will be included in materials for the conference. 

Brief Oral Presentations: Length of presentations should be 13-15 minutes (short presentations allow symposium attendees to be exposed to a variety of research studies and best practices).

Poster Presentations: Posters will be displayed at the venue for both days of event. Poster presenters may also choose to present at the Joint Child Health Poster Presentation Session on the evening of Day 1. 

 

 

 


 

 

Target Audience

The target audience for the event includes: youth, families, researchers, educators, clinicians (e.g., behaviour therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists, recreational therapists, social workers, nurses, physicians, etc.), service leaders, and undergraduate and graduate students.
