For TVCC Youth with disabilities and a sibling (a family member or close friend) who are 12 yrs + who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.
What to Expect
Get ready to celebrate Halloween at TVCC with another Teen Dance – the ultimate alternative to a traditional school dance!
This event is specially crafted for teens and tweens with disabilities and their youth-aged family members and friends. Join us for a spooky celebration complete with costumes, bumpin' tunes, seasonal decorations and yummy snacks. It's not just a dance; it's an opportunity to socialize, forge new friendships, and for everyone to shine!
Participant Criteria:
- TVCC clients (ages 12 yrs +) and their siblings, cousins, and friends (ages 12-18 yrs)
- Interest and willingness to participate in a social dance
- Able to participate safely in a group setting without engaging in behavours that may be harmful to themselves or others.
- Youth are welcome to bring any adaptive equipment or support items to support their participation (i.e. noise reducing headphones, comfort items). Clients are welcome to have a support person present to assist them.
Parents and caregivers are also welcome to stay on site and attend a concurrent informal parent social hosted by a Parent Mentor and Social Worker. Feel free to enjoy a coffee, ask questions or simply chat and connect with other parents.
