TVCC offers a range of participation programs, including camps and activities, to help clients and families be their best.

(Virtual, Tues or Wed, Sept 16-Dec 3) During this guided discussion, we focus on autism and behavioural strategies and provide helpful resources to parents of children with autism.

Quiet Swim (2-6 yrs)

(In-person, Sept-Dec 2025) This program is designed to provide a calm, low stimulation environment to allow children to become comfortable in the water with the support of a parent/caregiver. This program is unstructured and child led, and facilitated by a Recreation Therapist to support early transitions and comfort in the water.

Feeding 101 Parent Workshops

(Virtual, Sept - Dec dates) Parents/caregivers of preschool age children, with special needs can learn about making mealtimes positive, reducing power struggles, defining parent and child feeding roles, the role of sensory processing in eating challenges.

(Virtual, Monthly, Oct 7, 2025 - May 5, 2026) Connect with other families and gather resources. Get organized, gain knowledge, talk about advocacy and plan for today, tomorrow and the future.

Baby Bubbles (10 - 24 m)

(In-person, Tues, Oct 7-28) We will focus on introducing early swim skills through engaging, play-based activities that promote comfort in the water, fostering a love for the water, and learning about other TVCC and community-based swim opportunities.

Sensory 101 Parent Education

(Virtual, Oct 7, Dec 2) An introduction to what the sensory systems are and how they work. The goal is to understand your child better. This understanding will assist families in developing strategies to help make life easier.

Swim Spouts (3 - 4 yrs)

(In-person, Weds - Oct 8-29) Recreation Therapists will support you and your child as we introduce and practice foundational swim skills, comfort in the water, and pool safety habits.

Understanding Your Child's IEP

(In-person & virtual, Oct 8 or 15) We will examine the parent/caregiver's role in the Individual Education Plan (IEP). Parents/caregivers will have the opportunity to ask questions about IEPs and learn about ways to co-create student-centred, strength-based IEP goals.
