Fresh Take: Searching for the Outcomes You Want at School

for parents/caregivers of school-age children with disabilities and the community who support them.

What to Expect

Are you looking for new  ways to effectively and positively advocate for your child at school ?

This workshop is designed for parents/caregivers of children and youth with disabilities who are looking to have a better relationship with the school, and feel more confident when asking for what your child needs. In this interactive session you will learn strategies on how  to work collaboratively toward  creating solutions rather than fixing problems.

Caregivers will  have the opportunity to try new approaches and discover key words and language to have better conversations  with their school team particularly when there are changes,  transitions and  challenges to work through and overcome.

This initiative is part of TVCC's Wellness Project.  The Wellness Project is a four-year program aimed at rebuilding and enhancing mental wellness for youth and their families. We understand that the past few years have brought unique challenges, and we want to help. We are running programs with a focus on connection, mindfulness, physical activity, and new skills.
