TVCC Youth with disabilities, 12 yrs +, who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.
What to Expect
Taste Buds is a hands-on meal preparation program for TVCC clients ages 12+ who are interested in creating meals and socializing with others.
Participants will work together to prepare a meal, sit down to share it, and practice valuable life skills. Participants are welcome to sign up for one or both dates.
Please note that this program is for TVCC clients only (no friends/siblings etc at this time.)
Through guided activities, participants will:
- Practice safe kitchen and food handling skills
- Practice meal preparation techniques such as chopping, mixing, and assembling
- Strengthen teamwork and communication while working alongside peers
- Build confidence and independence in a supportive environment
- Enjoy the social experience of sitting down to share the meal they created
Session 1 Menu: English Muffin Pizza & Ceasar Salad
Session 2 Menu: Grilled Cheese & Garden Salad
Participant Critera:
- TVCC Clients ages 12+
- Able to engage safely in group activities with minimal support. A support person is welcome to attend if additional assistance is needed.
- Have an interest in cooking/meal preparation
