March Break Walk and Roll (all ages)

All TVCC clients, siblings, and their parents/caregivers who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.

What to Expect

Join TVCC, in partnership with the Children’s Health Foundation, Beck Hearing Aid Centre, and our friends at the StarTech YMCA Community Centre, for a fun and energizing way to shake off the winter blues—the March Break Walk and Roll program!

Bring your family and enjoy access to a beautiful public indoor walking track, along with engaging weekly activities designed to get everyone moving.

Each session offers open track time, opportunities to meet and connect with other TVCC families, and access to knowledgeable staff from TVCC and our partner organizations who will be on hand to answer questions and provide support.

Get active, stay warm, and build community—come walk and roll with us!

You can look forward to the following programming: 

  • Mar 14: Zines workshop - Design and create a mini-magazine from start to finish! Whether you’re into drawing, writing, collage, or all of the above, this is your chance to express yourself, share your ideas, and explore DIY publishing. No experience needed - just bring your imagination! This program will support participants in communicating with others in a fun and creative manner. We will share simple tips and techniques to personalize a zines well as praticing doodling, colouring and decorating skills. All abilities welcome!
     
  • March 21: Mindful Martial Arts - Join TVCC in some mindful martial arts practice, designed to encourage awareness of one's body and self. Two 30 minute sessions will be offered at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.. These sessions are accessible to all.

Open access to the community walking track, café area, and lounge are also available on all dates and Beck Hearing Aid Centre staff will be on site to clean and inspect hearing aids, do minor repairs and answer any hearing related questions. They will also have samples of their custom earplugs there for people to see and touch.

Participant Criteria:

  • TVCC clients, siblings of TVCC clients, and parents/caregivers
  • Able to participate safely in a group setting; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
  • Clients are welcome to bring any adaptive equipment or support items to support their participation (i.e. noise reducing headphones, comfort items)
  • Caregivers are able to remain with and are responsible for youth at all times

Clients and family members are encouraged to bring a pair of indoor shoes to ensure the walking track remains clear and clean! All members of a family or group must have a ticket through Eventbrite to manage participation.
