Unlocking Cooperation

For parents/caregivers of children with autism and other disabilities and community partners supporting them.

What to Expect

Cooperation plays a key role in how children and teens learn and grow. This updated presentation looks at how parents can encourage cooperative behavior in everyday situations, helping set the stage for long-term success in school and life. Parents will leave with tools and ideas to help their children build cooperation skills at any age.

We’ll explore practical strategies that help kids want to cooperate, not just follow directions.

Parents will learn:
•    Why cooperation is important for building skills and social success
•    What affects a child’s willingness to work with others
•    How to use “give and take” to increase cooperation
•    How to spot everyday chances to teach and strengthen cooperation
