TVCC Youth with disabilities, 12 yrs +, who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County.
What to Expect
Dinner with Friends is a hands-on meal preparation program for TVCC clients ages 12 yrs + who are interested in creating meals and socializing with others. Participants will work together to prepare a meal, sit down to share it, and practice valuable life skills. Participants are welcome to sign up for one or both dates.
Through guided activities, participants will:
- Pracice safe kitchen and food handling skills
- Practice meal preparation techniques such as chopping, mixing, and assembling
- Strengthen teamwork and communication while working alongside peers
- Build confidence and independence in a supportive environment
- Enjoy the social experience of sitting down to share the meal they created
Participant Critera:
- TVCC Clients ages 12 yrs +
- Able to engage safely in group activities with minimal support. A support person is welcome to attend if additional assistance is needed.
- Have an interest in cooking/meal preparation
