Participation Programs

Life is all about participation!

TVCC offers a range of participation programs (camps and activities) helping clients and families to be their best. 

The primary purpose of Participation programs is to ensure kids have access to an appropriate range of activities and experiences to optimize their growth and development.

These participation programs offer clients the chance to get involved in opportunities and activities that they may not otherwise experience. These opportunities range from groups held at TVCC or community locations for early skill development to supports for participation in fully integrated community programs. Treat Accessibly Halloween

(In-person, Oct 25) Join TVCC, Children's Health Foundation, Treat Accessibly, and Westmount Shopping Centre for London's first ever Treat Accessibly Halloween event! It will be an afternoon of tricks and treats for the whole family. This event has been created for TVCC clients and families, and is open to the public - bring all your friends!

Autism Mail Club

(Sept 2025 - Aug 2026) Sign up now to receive resources and tip sheets in the mail. Each topic is designed to help you to support your child or youth with autism.

Quiet Swim (2-6 yrs)

(In-person, Sept-Dec 2025) This program is designed to provide a calm, low stimulation environment to allow children to become comfortable in the water with the support of a parent/caregiver. This program is unstructured and child led, and facilitated by a Recreation Therapist to support early transitions and comfort in the water.

Baby Bubbles (10 - 24 m)

(In-person, Tues, Oct 7-28) We will focus on introducing early swim skills through engaging, play-based activities that promote comfort in the water, fostering a love for the water, and learning about other TVCC and community-based swim opportunities.

Swim Spouts (3 - 4 yrs)

(In-person, Weds - Oct 8-29) Recreation Therapists will support you and your child as we introduce and practice foundational swim skills, comfort in the water, and pool safety habits.

Nintendo Switch Party (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Oct 15-Dec 10) Join Horizons and The Wellness Project for Nintendo Switches parties! We connect TVCC's Nintendo Switch consoles to two big screens for everyone to play together. We have a few games to choose from, or youth are also welcome to bring any multiplayer games they'd like to play with the group.

Youth Gardening: Little Hands, Big Impact (12 yrs+)

(In-person, Oct 20 - Nov 10) This inclusive program offers a welcoming and adaptive environment where participants can explore gardening, connect with others, and enjoy hands-on activities that build skills and confidence.

Photography is for Everyone (14-21 yrs)

(In-person, Oct 21 & Nov 18) Every person has a different story to tell, and learning how to harness the power of photography is a great way to tell them! Through the use of disposable film cameras and our voices, we can share our experience!

Halloween Movie Night: Hocus Pocus (12yrs+)

(In-person, Oct 22) This Halloween-themed decoration program is a creative event where participants will come together to craft spooky and festive decorations for the Halloween themed Teen Dance that the Wellness Project is running on Friday, October 18th.

(In-person, Oct 24) This event is specially crafted for teens and tweens with disabilities and their youth-aged family members and friends, providing an inclusive and sensory-friendly environment.

Caregivers Connecting: Caregivers of Children/Youth

(In-Person, Tues, Oct 28, Nov 25, Dec 16) Caregivers and parents, of TVCC clients ages, with disabilities can share their experiences, information, challenges, successes and strategies, or just hang out and drink some coffee!

Dinner with Friends (12 yrs +)

(In-person, Oct 28) TVCC Youth with disabilities, 12 yrs +, who reside within Elgin/Middlesex, Huron/Perth, Grey/Bruce & Oxford County are invited to join the Horizons and Wellness Project teams to prepare and share a meal together.
