TVCC (Thames Valley Children’s Centre) is seeking a parent representative to serve as a volunteer committee member on the Operational Priority Committee of the Board of Directors. TVCC works to support children and their families to achieve the highest possible quality of life. Through a variety of services and supports for children and youth with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders, we aim to help our clients to be their best! Operational Priority Committee

The Operational Priority Committee plays an advisory and monitoring role in overseeing the clinical and related programs of TVCC. Working closely with the Director of Quality Management and the Chief Executive Officer, the Committee discusses and recommends policies in the areas of service, research, education and innovation. They review and provide recommendations on the organization's strategic plans in these areas, ensuring mechanisms are in place to meet client needs and overseeing the utilization and allocation of clinical resources.

The Committee also focuses on continuous service quality improvement, staying informed about trends, service gaps, system issues, and alliance/partnership opportunities. They receive input and feedback from the Client Advisory Committee and address risk management and client safety. Additionally, the Committee reviews and recommends TVCC's annual Accessibility Plan and ensures compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines related to privacy.

Commitment:

The term of the position will be two years, and we provide a hybrid option for all meetings. Meetings can be conducted through Microsoft Teams video conferencing or at our head office in London, Ontario.

This position comes with a time commitment of 90 minute monthly meetings during the work day from October through May.
 

Skills Preferred:

Experience as a parent of a child receiving services from TVCC, Familiarity with the organization’s programs, Knowledge of clinical services or related fields, Non-profit sector
