TVCC (Thames Valley Children’s Centre) is seeking individuals to serve as volunteer committee members on the Human Resources Committee of the Board of Directors. TVCC works to support children and their families to achieve the highest possible quality of life. Through a variety of services and supports for children and youth with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders, TVCC supports clients to be their best! The Human Resources Committee
The Human Resources Committee, working with the TVCC Director of Human and Facility Resources and the Manager of Human Resources, assists in managing risk, aligning priorities, and supporting decision making by reviewing and making recommendations, where required, for human resources strategies, policies, programs and practices. As appropriate, the committee provides suggestions and applies critical thinking to ensure that issues have had thorough consideration prior to making motions with recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval.
As a committee member, you will bring your individual professional experience and perspective to share and discuss information and opinions in support of HR best practices. Members will not be requested to engage in additional research or projects
Commitment:
The term of the position will be a minimum of two years.
This position requires a time commitment of 90-minute monthly meetings, held during the workday from October through May. The majority of meetings are virtual with an ‘in-person preferred’ meeting twice per year.
Skills Preferred:
Experienced professional with a background in Human Resources, Legal or Management.
Required Qualifications/Training:
Experienced professional with a background in Human Resources, HR Law, or Management. Preference will be given to candidates currently working and/or residing in Southwestern Ontario, being the catchment area that TVCC serves.
