We are currently recruiting for a temporary, part-time (26.25 hours per week) Occupational Therapist in the Early Childhood, School Age and Adolescent Program. The designated office for this position is London. The successful candidate will provide services in Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford counties, with occasional travel to neighbouring counties.
This position is expected to begin in July 2026 and end in July 2027.
Responsibilities:
- Provide screenings, assessments, consultation and intervention;
- Participate in planning services as part of a multi-disciplinary team including family/care providers, volunteers, staff from other agencies and other TVCC staff;
- Provide community-based (e.g., home, child care, family centres) and Centre-based intervention that is direct or mediated, individual or group and adapts as needs and goals change. Intervention provided is within the Life Needs Model of Service and the Tiered Model of Service;
- Prepare and support children and families in the transition to school;
- Provide education for clients, families and others;
- Participate in service development and evaluation;
- Participate in and/or integrate and share current research/literature on disability, family and community development;
- Supervision of students and support personnel may be required.
Qualifications:
- Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario;
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to work well within an inter-professional team;
- Computer proficiency including Office 365 and videoconferencing software (e.g. Teams);
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required;
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR;
- Ability to provide services in French is considered an asset;
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
Salary Range: $39.81 - $49.76/hour
