Intensive Intervention

Intense Intervention helps children develop different early learning skills to prepare them for school and support their development.

This treatment focuses on early problem-solving and cognitive skills, communication, social skills, fine and gross motor skills, and daily living skills, amongst others.

For children...

  • up to 6 years of age
  • working on building many different types of early learning skills (focus on overall development and preparation for school)

Location and staffing…

  • classroom and individual settings
  • each child is assigned one therapist

Days and times…

  • each session is 2½ hours
  • 1 session per day (5 sessions per week) in the mornings
  • 6-month program

Parent involvement…

  • parents/caregivers join their child in the classroom for observation once a month
  • Foundational Family Services - parents/caregivers can attend for additional coaching and consultation services

Register with Core Clinical Services by completing TVCC’s online Intake and Referral form.

What to Expect

Payments

Once you have selected a treatment program for your child, the number of sessions per week, and number of weeks of service you wish to purchase, we will develop a Service Agreement and payment schedule (typically 2 – 3 payments in total).

The cost of our services covers:

  • all direct intervention with your child
  • parent/caregiver meetings
  • clinical supervision and training of staff
  • consultations with education and community service providers involved with your child
  • report writing and documentation
  • program materials and supplies
  • invoices and receipts necessary to submit to the OAP with the Ontario government
