Speech Language Pathologist (School Therapy Services, contract)

We are currently recruiting to fill the following Speech Language Pathologist positions in School Therapy Services, London:

  • One part-time position, working 15 hours per week, This position is expected to begin as soon as possible and end in June 2022. 

This exciting, dynamic role provides therapy services to students in schools within London and Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford counties and involves working with a variety of fellow clinicians, educators and parents to help children and youth achieve meaningful outcomes in their ability to communicate. 


Responsibilities:

  • Provide mainly school based intervention including screening, assessment, consultation and intervention regarding speech development, articulation, fluency, voice, resonance, basic augmentative communication needs and swallowing;
  • Intervention can be direct, mediated or consultative and may be in groups or include virtual modalities; 
  • Provide education for clients, families and school personnel
  • Plan services as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes the family, other care providers, school board personnel, volunteers, staff from other agencies, and other TVCC staff;
  • Occasional  work contracted from the Home and Community Care Support Services (formerly the Southwest LHIN) for in home and private school services. This may on rare occasions be in the evenings or on weekends; 
  • Participate in ongoing program development.


Qualifications:

  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario 
  • Experience in pediatrics is preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite 2010 and videoconferencing software (ex. Zoom)
  • Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Ability to clinically supervise support personnel, students and initial practice registrants within the guidelines of CASLPO would be an asset
  • Ability to provide services in French would be an asset
