Physiotherapist (Early Childhood Services, Owen Sound)

We are currently recruiting for a contract, part-time (18.75 hours per week) Physiotherapist to fill an upcoming vacancy in Early Childhood Services.  The designated office for this position will be Owen Sound. The successful candidate will provide services in Grey County.  

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible and end in August 2022. This vacancy is due to the leave of absence of a regular status employee.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide screenings, assessments, consultation and intervention;
  • Plan services as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes the family, other care providers, and community agencies;
  • Provide intervention within the Life Needs Model of Service in the community, our regional office(s) and/or client homes;
  • Prepare and support clients and their families in the transition to school;
  • Provide education for clients, families and community partners;
  • Participate in ongoing program and service development;

Qualifications:

  • Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario;
  • Experience with children, youth and families;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within an inter-professional team;
  • Current knowledge of best practices and literature related to disability, family and community development and the Life Needs Model;
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite 2010 and videoconferencing software (ex. Zoom);
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required; 
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
