Partnerships
Partnerships enrich our research by providing complementary skills, new perspectives, and resources. TVCC researchers collaborate with a wide variety of partners in London, across Ontario, Canada, and the United States, including local community agencies, community associations, universities, research units/centres, and hospitals.
Involving individuals with disabilities and their families as members of our research teams helps us to ensure that our research is relevant, appropriate, and meaningful.

Research Alliance for Children with Special Needs (RACSN) TVCC's Research Program lead this Research Alliance which was active from 2000 to 2005. RACSN was originally formed in January 2000 with funding for a 3-year period (2000 to 2003) by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) through the new Community-University Research Alliance (CURA) program. In 2003, RACSN was awarded a further two years of funding to continue its mandate of “Enhancing the community participation of children with special needs.” RACSN was a partnership between Thames Valley Children’s Centre (lead agency), Child and Parent Resource Institute, The University of Western Ontario, Thames Valley District School Board, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and the London District Catholic School Board.
