Talk to your parents, teachers, and therapists about the basic skills everyone needs for driving including:


Visual skills: to be evaluated and accompanied by a written report by an optometrist or opthalamologist on visual acuity, peripheral vision, night vision, depth perception, visual scanning, visual field
Severity of visual perceptual factors are usually the deciding factor more than the physical disability

Sensory motor skills
the use of upper and or lower extremities for the motor component of driving and handling a car safely  (strength, range of motion, spasticity, sensation, and proprioception)

Trunk stability

Reaction time

Transfer skills
getting yourself in/out of car; handling your wheelchair/equipment; using a wheelchair lift

Cognitive function
problem solving, judgement, attention/concentration
