Volunteer Services coordinates, supervises and evaluates all non-clinical student placements including high school cooperative placements, adult education cooperative placements, college cooperative placements etc. Generally, we accept one high school placement per semester. Other cooperative placements are reviewed according to the needs of the Centre at the time of request. Most non-clinical placements involve a variety of service areas as opposed to one particular area of focus.
The expectations of students is similar to volunteers in that we are looking for students who are enthusiastic and flexible, dependable and punctual, enjoy working in an environment with children and are willing to have fun.
Students wanting Non-clinical placements are required to complete an application process, attend an interview, provide three references, complete a Vulnerable Position Screening (formerly the Criminal Reference Check), provide documentation of an updated immunization record and TB test and attend an orientation & training session.
