Augmentative Communication Service

All parents, therapists, instructors and Individual Authorizers (IAs) , who have Augmentative Communication (AC) questions / concerns are welcome to attend. Individual Authorizers (IAs) are Speech Language Pathologists or Occupational Therapists who have special training in Augmentative Communication and are registered with the Assistive Devices Program. IAs prescribe low tech strategies and simple speech generating devices. Find out how to become an Individual Authorizer Please Note: ACS therapists cannot see clients or authorize equipment during these sessions. PURPOSE:
An ACS Speech-Language Pathologist and Occupational Therapist will be available as needed to discuss case studies and to address questions related to AC. If a full assessment seems appropriate, the referral process will be explained. All referrals are then screened through a referral committee.
