Flu Prevention at TVCC  E-mail

TVCC has implemented several flu prevention strategies and we're requesting that before you visit the Centre you become aware of the procedures you can take to help keep your and our families healthy.

There is an outbreak of influenza, commonly called H1N1 Flu or Swine Flu.  Medical facilities must take precautions to avoid the spread of this illness. We must also take precautions to prevent the spread of any other illness.

On the day of your child’s appointment at Thames Valley Children’s Centre, if YOU or YOUR CHILD have:

A new or worsening cough or shortness of breath

and any of

A fever, muscle aches or diarrhea (loose stools)

You or your child may have influenza.

If you have any of these symptoms, you may have another infectious illness.

Please call us to let us know that you and/or your child are sick and cancel your appointment.  If you arrive at Thames Valley Children’s Centre for your appointment and either you or your child is sick with these symptoms, you will be sent home.  Your appointment will be rescheduled for another time.

As a precaution to avoid spreading infections between people, we must remove the toys, books and magazines from our waiting rooms.  Please bring some toys and/or books that your child likes with you so that your child has something to do while you wait to be seen.
