Tech Services is able to offer customization of commercially available regular and adapted equipment or the fabrication of specially designed equipment for children with special needs. It includes individuals with mechanical, electrical and upholstery skills who are members of the Seating and Mobility Service and the Augmentative Communication Service.

Individuals in Tech Services also work collaboratively with clients, families and their primary therapists to modify and customize commercially available equipment such as school chairs, standers, bicycles, etc. or to fabricate specially designed equipment such as bath seats, trays, toilet seats, post surgical seat boards, etc. Please see the attached equipment price list . Funding assistance for equipment may be available through school boards, employer extended benefits, Easter Seals or Community and Social Services.

Assessment and fitting for most equipment is done in conjunction with the client, family and prescribing therapist to ensure appropriate fit and support and safety.
